We are a privately run, owner operated centre! That means management are there 5 days a week to answer any questions you have and take on any feedback given. And if we aren’t physically in the office we are always contactable via email or text (we were even working in the delivery ward!) Your questions and queries don’t need to go through a long chain of command, you don’t have to go to an accounts department off site – it’s all done through the husband and wife team who treat the centre like their 3rd baby!
One of the owners started off as educator in childcare, so we know what educators want from a centre. We are also parents ourselves so we know what parents want from a centre. And we have been providing care to Shire families for over 13 years now so we have all sides covered!
As a long day care centre we are open from 7am til 6pm, 51 weeks of year only closing over Christmas/New Years and public holidays. That means not having to rush around for drop off and pick up on school hours or figuring out who will look after your little ones in school holidays.
We are a small, boutique service that offers care for up to 30 children per day, ten 1-3 year olds and twenty 3-5 year olds in a home like environment.
We don’t use casuals, all of educators are employed full time or part time on a permanent basis. That means our educators knows exactly what your child likes, dislikes, their routine, their friends, how to separate them easily and much more.
We are an all inclusive service, supplying all the essentials such as 5 meals per day, bedding, hats, sunscreen and everything needed for nappy change. We take all of the hassle out of the mornings for you and if you forget your child’s bag – we have everything here to look after them for the day!
We are big believers in no such thing as too much communication! We have a communication app which we use to send families photo and video updates through out the day, keep you informed about your child’s daily meal, sleep and eating schedules and to send out messages from the office. We also send out weekly newsletters, phone calls, email exchanges, daily chats, notices on the noticeboard, hold information evenings, individual parent pockets located in the hallway, host parent/teacher meeting mid year.
Hi, I’m Katie! I’m the passionate owner and director behind Treetops @ Kirrawee.
With over 16 years of experience in early childhood education I’ve dedicated my career to nurturing young minds and providing a safe, enriching environment for children to grow and thrive.
I started working in child care in when I was 19 years old as a childcare trainee and worked my way up the ranks to assistant, then to room leader and then in 2012 took the exciting leap to open my own centre and have been on this amazing journey, building strong relationships with the families we serve and making a lasting impact in our community.
Outisde of my work at Treetops @ Kirrawee I’m inspired by my loving husband, Adam, our two beautiful children, Nate and Indi and our crazy puppy Asha.
I believe in providing the highest quality of care that i am capable of. I believe that every child and family regardless of religion, culture, gender, age, disability and socio economic status has the right to this kind of care. I believe in equality and promoting of other cultures.
I believe in providing a safe, happy place for families and children and staff to come to and enjoy spending their time here. I believe in forming friendships and relationships with these groups of people to support each other and learn from each other. I believe children need to develop strong attachments to carers to be able to feel comfortable to be able to learn through play.
I believe children should initiate their learning and educators are here to follow along with their interests by providing stimulating environments for them to play in. I believe the natural environment is an important thing for the children to be aware of. Children need to spend time in it, playing with open ended resources, using their imaginations and getting back to basics. Animals should be an important part of growth, teaching children responsibility.
Treetops @ Kirrawee is proud to provide high quality childcare. We have strived to create a safe and welcoming, home like, atmosphere. We believe this environment fosters physical, emotional, creative, and cognitive development. We want Treetops @ Kirrawee to be a happy and fun place for children to enjoy. We want to give children the support to make sense of the world and to use their natural curiosity and investigation skills.
We believe that play is a context for learning. The toys and experiences that we plan for each child are carefully chosen to try and expand upon what is relevant to the child and their development. We view children as active participants and decision makers. We want to cater to their interests, strengths and needs. We persevere to form relationships through nurturing children and providing them with emotional encouragement – it is our hope that this extends to peer interactions and allows children to form secure relationships where they feel confident and respected.
We believe each child is an individual who progresses through their development at their own pace. We encourage the inclusion of children with additional needs and do our best to support them by networking with a wide range of professionals. We are committed to equality and believe that all children have the ability to succeed, regardless of circumstance. We make curriculum decisions that promote the participation of all children.
We value the connection to family, community and culture during each child’s early development and encourage communication between Treetops and the families who attend. Regular correspondence regarding each child’s interests and strengths may help to improve overall development. In turn we value the wide range of skills, knowledge and important information families have to contribute concerning their children. We support and respect any level of involvement that families are able to provide.
Multiculturalism is a fully integrated principle underpinning Treetops’ culture. We promote diversity throughout our staff, the children entrusted to our care, their families and the wider community. We commit to think critically about opportunities and dilemmas that can arise from diversity, and take the initiative to try and prevent any problems, or take action to rectify unfairness if it should occur.
We strive to build a professional team at Treetops which is based on respect, support and a positive attitude. All staff are encouraged and supported to embrace a continual improvement approach to their personal and professional development. We facilitate a learning culture by seeking ways to build professional knowledge such as promoting in services and staff meetings. And we strive for excellence by our awareness of the recommended practices, and the standards, rules and regulations set out by DoE and ACECQA under the NQF.

We focus on a sense of becoming, and assisting with self help skills, learning through play with an emphasis on Literacy, sensory processing, music and sounds, STEM, mindfulness, rest and relaxation, and group times.
Excellent daycare centre. Very well run by Katie & Adam and the staff are all excellent. I would highly recommend!
Treetops is such a beautiful centre. Katie and Adam are very welcoming. Communication is excellent and some great activities are organised for the children. Peta, Holly and Jamie also do a wonderful job providing care, and have created a lovely environment in the Oak Room. We are appreciative to Treetops, and would highly recommend it to others.
My child loves going to Treetops. The staff are kind, polite, and have taken the time to get to know my child. Communication throughout the day is great via the app. They've exceeded my expectations.
My son Rayyan goes to Treetops since more than a year and we absolutely love it there! Katie is just absolutely amazing, kind and always ready to assist you with any query. She guides you, responds to you promptly, and is honestly one of the nicest people you'd come across. She and her staff are all absolutely amazing. It's a small centre so children get more individual attention, and everyone knows everybody. Also, as it's literally next to kirrawee public school, that means most of the kids enrolled there goto kirrawee school that's a relief as your child will have friends from Daycare at the big school that's gonna be a comfort when starting there. Cheers!
My son started childcare with Treetops this year. The owners of the centre are always around and contactable directly for absolutely anything. There are always activities being organised whether it's celebrating a different culture, wildlife and animal visits or playing different sports. But it's the lovely childcare workers that have made our first year of childcare such a dream and so much easier than it could have been. The girls who work at the centre are all so caring, friendly and passionate about what they do. They develop lovely relationships with all the kids, and there seems to be very low staff turnover, which helps the kids to feel secure. You simply can't compare a family run childcare centre with this level of care and consideration in everything they do to a large commercial orientated childcare centre. Would | recommend to anyone looking for a childcare centre in Kirrawee or surrounding area, but just remember to get on the waitlist as soon as possible!
